Among the many local
attractions is Savannah's River Street with over 70 restaurants,
hotels, shops and art galleries - many of which are

in converted cotton warehouses. Once the site of Savannah's bustling
port, today River Street welcomes visitors from around the world to
enjoy its riverfront charm. The many area festivals include the annual
Celebrate Hardeeville Festival plus Savannah's River Street St.
Patrick's Day on the River Festival, Oktoberfest and the Great
Atlantic Seafood Festival.
Other regional attractions and things to do include the Argent Train
Engine No. 7, which was donated to Hardeeville after the closing of
the Argent Lumber Company.
You'll also enjoy the Waving Girl statue on Savannah's River Street
made in honor of Florence Martus, the Tybee Lighthouse (Georgia's
oldest and tallest lighthouse) and the circa 1847 Fort Pulaski, a
state-of-the-art defense system, that fell to Union troops during the
Civil War.
